What is The Academy?
Minerva's Virtual Academy is an award-winning online independent school for Years 7 - 13. We're enrolling now for an immediate start.
Our students study the British Curriculum from the comfort and safety of their home. They learn through a mixture of live group lessons and online self-taught modules, take exams, make life-long friends, get great results - and do this all online.
Our goal has been to take our 1-2-1 homeschooling expertise and apply it to a virtual setting, whilst also providing a solution to one of the key concerns about homeschooling - what do we do about the social side of home education?
The result has been to take the whole school experience - from lessons, to extracurricular clubs, and even weekly assemblies - and put it online.
With 7 years of exceptional experience in private tutoring and homeschooling, we're now able to make a big difference to families for whom traditional school is not an option, or for whom traditional homeschooling is too expensive.

Our world-class online learning platform allows students to work at their own pace, on their own schedule, encouraging them to develop self-study skills, self-sufficiency, and accountability.
Pupils will learn the GCSE syllabus through a mixture of video, audio and texts. They will be regularly quizzed and challenged to learn, reflect, revise, test; then master and move on to the next topic.

A true ally on a pupil’s educational journey, the mentor will be contactable at any time, and will oversee all aspects of their pupils academic progress, pastoral well-being and involvement in school life. The mentor guides them on their path to success.
Every mentor at MVA is highly trained, highly experienced, with 1000s of hours of 121 mentorship under their belt. They are the best of Minerva Tutors.

Group Subject Lessons
Having studied the core content in advance through the Virtual Learning Platform, pupils will also attend live lessons with specialist teachers in each subject. These lessons will reinforce their learning in a highly engaging and interactive group environment, and ensure that nobody gets left behind.
"World Changer" Projects
Pupils will participate in a weekly, project-based, collaborative, cross-curricular class that develop creative and independent thought while tackling real-world and future-world problems. We're partnering with external providers that work with NASA, the United Nations and others. These projects will have an incredible lasting impact on your child's future.

Weekly Virtual Assemblies
Attended by the entire school each week, our assemblies are an important part of The Academy experience - a time to get together and celebrate pupils' achievements.
Weekly Well-being Sessions
Each week we run sessions on mindfulness and emotional resilience.
Clubs
Each Academy pupil will join one of the following clubs: creative computing, art, debating, film-making, books, student magazine and more!
Inspiring Guest Speakers
We're bringing in inspiring lecturers to inspire our pupils (parents can also attend!)
